The Strangest Winter

We must be having the strangest winter that I have ever seen since I moved to this city in the late 70's. Back then we would have that coastal drizzle with very cold conditions that would last for weeks on end.

This winter we siting with average temps day 29 degree Celsius = 84.2 degree Fahrenheit and night 17 degree Celsius = 62.6 degree Fahrenheit. We then get a cold front moving over and you can actually see it coming like a wall of weather. When it hits the temps almost drop by half withing a few minutes. So if you don't know that they coming in you can get caught out in normal summer wear. These cold fronts last a few days at the most. I think this year so far we have had around 5 days were it dropped down to single digits. People are out on the beaches just as they would be during the summer months.

The worst part of it all we have a critical water shortage and our winter periods are normally when we get our rain. Even with these cold fronts that move over every now and then we really getting little to no rain this year.

Those warm temps are about a mirror image of our summer over here right now. We're having a run of good weather, but it's quite hot - really too hot for me.
Unusually hot and humid like last summer, be we were warned that this will probably be the new normal for our summers.
Under these conditions the only comfortable time for me to get any chores done or go for a ride is in the early morning before the heat arrives.
The rest of the day is more or less a wasted day. Those who have to work outside in construction, roofing, etc., must be suffering.
I heard that some roofing contractors send the men home around 2:00 because of the extreme heat and exhaustion.

That sounds a lot like Florida winters. We can see the cold fronts coming. We have had a hot summer here. The several days have been more pleasant with highs in the upper 80's F instead of the mid 909's F. Unless I am riding out in the country where I can keep moving, I don't ride much after noon.
