A one-off Triton commissioned by Karl Lagerfeld, head designer at Chanel. He forgot to tell them what he was doing. When they saw the bike, they were furious. The bike was dismantled.

Not before it featured in a short film, along with the two models.

There were very few of these in our area . A couple of my friends had them though . One of them
whom I traveled with had a blue 75 Pursang 250 IMHO perhaps the best looking motocross bike ever .

Most epic starting of a classic Triumph in the entire film industry. You might need to own a classic to find it really funny. Tells a tale too; how a classic isn't just a motorcycle.

Think I feel a panic attack coming on ...

When I still had the old Triumph I was about the only one that could start it. You sort of get used to the way your own classic needs to start.

Sort of. Like in the short film, my bike needs holding above idle on a cold start, otherwise will immediately stall. So I always put on helmet, zipped-up jacket, put on gloves before starting, to save contortionism. I then discovered it wouldn't start until I removed gloves, helmet, now sweat-drenched jacket. First kick thereafter. Must be that zen thing. So bought a throttle lock. Now decided it will start with all the gear on.
