FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON TROPICAL
STORM KATIA...LOCATED ABOUT 750 MILES EAST OF THE NORTHERN LEEWARD
ISLANDS...AND ON TROPICAL DEPRESSION THIRTEEN LOCATED ABOUT 210
MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE MOUTH OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.

1. SHOWER ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM LOCATED ABOUT
450 MILES SOUTH OF HALIFAX NOVA SCOTIA HAS CHANGED LITTLE DURING THE
PAST SEVERAL HOURS. THIS SYSTEM IS PRODUCING WINDS OF TROPICAL
STORM FORCE...AND ONLY A SLIGHT INCREASE IN ORGANIZATION COULD
RESULT IN THE FORMATION OF A TROPICAL STORM. THIS SYSTEM HAS A HIGH
CHANCE...60 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.

Lee will make landfall in Louisiana and turn east. However MS, AL, and GA need rain; so it will be a good thing. Some models are predicting that Katia may hit New England and/or Canada. Right now she is running more westerly than predicted.

Hmmm, that can be worrisome since I'll be away from home after 7 Sept.
 
Louisiana is stealing our tropical storm. We were looking forward to the storm coming this way but it doesn't look like it's going to come this way. They are predicting this storm could act just like Allison did to our area a few years ago, 20+ inches of rain in two days. We sure could use the rain.

Man, i don't know how you guys can live there with all those damn things stirring up every year. If our earthquakes were imminent on a yearly basis i'd have moved by now ! :y13: I hope those freakin' things stay the heck away from land this year.
 
Give a good ol' tropical storm or hurricane any day of the week, just keep them dern earthquakes away. At least we know when a storm is a coming, earthquakes don't give no warning.
