Back from the 'bush'. Kruger National Park. What a stunning few days. Saw the "Big 5"; rhino, buffalo, elephant (by the 100's) lion (3 prides) and leopard - my elusive nemesis. Yes, the leopard was up a tree, shielded by a screen of leaves so pics are not postcard quality but I'm not complaining. This is just the most magnificent creature. There are so many elephants in the park they're talking about a cull! Loads of young ones - most animals born in Sept to October. Saw hyena cub up close and personal. Loads of buck (antelope), so much so much so much! Watched heard of elephant with youngsters come down to the river in the camp we stayed in for a mud bath - no more than 50 meters from us; on foot but with a fence between us and the elephant. Heard lion roaring up a party all night from our tents - good thing there was a fence between us and them. Will post pics when I've figured it out and got time. Cheers guys, off to the coast now! :y18:

Hi Everyone and a really fantastic 2010 to all. Back from the coast. Saw the last of whales on their migration - 3 big humpbacks, loads of seals and dolphins........not bad for December. Had an absolutely brilliant holiday - bush to coast and some 5 000 km's later! Good to be back but I could get very used to simply touring this country on the back roads full time! Gotta get those Lotto tickets!
Must get Farside to post some of his pics - he's got the monster lense and some unbelievable shots! (Jealous).
Glad to see that there's dozens of 'unread' pages of posts!
Cheers to a great 2010!
