Back from the 'bush'. Kruger National Park. What a stunning few days. Saw the "Big 5"; rhino, buffalo, elephant (by the 100's) lion (3 prides) and leopard - my elusive nemesis. Yes, the leopard was up a tree, shielded by a screen of leaves so pics are not postcard quality but I'm not complaining. This is just the most magnificent creature. There are so many elephants in the park they're talking about a cull! Loads of young ones - most animals born in Sept to October. Saw hyena cub up close and personal. Loads of buck (antelope), so much so much so much! Watched heard of elephant with youngsters come down to the river in the camp we stayed in for a mud bath - no more than 50 meters from us; on foot but with a fence between us and the elephant. Heard lion roaring up a party all night from our tents - good thing there was a fence between us and them. Will post pics when I've figured it out and got time. Cheers guys, off to the coast now! :y18:
