Did the 12 minute tune (in the garage version) last weekend to the Tiger, Third time since I have owned it. Once after dead battery and after installing the Blue Flame exhaust. And had done it previously to my Speed Triple. Tiger was running a little rough and surging at low RPM (common on '05 Tigers) As heading to the dealer and paying "shop" fees to do a TOR download map isn't REALLY an option. I though I would try the 12 min. tune. It did even out the surging a bit. And for free its acceptable.
I have a patch cable and may attempt one of the "free wear" map downloads offered online......pc only so will need to bum a pc laptop from somebody first.
Been thinking about this "mod" for awhile but am slightly nervous "poking around" in the bikes brain and all. Seems to be straightforward, but if you screw something up......then its gonna be BIG money to the stealership to fix it.....

Glad the tune helped. I don't know what maps are available for your Tiger; but Tune ECU has all of the factory maps for the 800 and XC as well as custom maps other folks have submitted for the mods they have done.

I've read a million threads about Tune ecu and efi etc and I am still confused. Re the 12 minute tune they always mention "till the fan comes on". My America as you all know is air cooled and unless I'm going madder than I thought it does not have a fan. What do I do?

Put a fan in front of the bike beside the front wheel and have it blow on the oil cooler and engine and run the bike for 12 minutes. This is to protect your engine from overheating.

Thats a good question. The america's ECU may not have that option. Best thing to do is call a dealer and see if they know. They should but you know how that goes nowadays.
