As some of you, it's flooding down in Texas, again.

When I left work Thursday evening the rain was coming down at a pretty good clip. I live 8 miles from the plant and the drive is normally around 10 minutes. Thursday it took me 2 hours and 13 minutes to make it home. There are a couple areas around here that NOAA (The Weather Service) is saying they received half of their yearly rainfall in 24 hours. The neighbor across the street from me had over 9 inches of rain in 2 hours, at 9 inches his rain gauge started overflowing and it rained at that rate for another 2 hours. We are unsure how much rain we really received. This rain was harder than the rains we had during T.S. Allison when we had a little over 20 inches of rain in 24 hours. My house sits just below the crest of a hill so I wasn't to worried about the water rising to flood our house. Run-off has never been a problem for us but then again I haven't see this much run-off since we've lived here. I've got a few photos I will try to post as time allows.

Not our neighborhood but not far away, maybe 6 miles as the crow fly's

We are over the worse of that storm and all is back to normalish (?) weather. The rains are expected to start moving back in tonight or tomorrow with storms possible Tuesday thru Thursday night.

The Farmers Almanac said this was going to be a wetter than normal summer. For once I wish the FA was wrong.
