We seem to have a large number of members using Tapatalk on the forum so I need your input please. With the upcoming release of vBulletin 5 (the forum software) there is a possibility that Tapatalk will no longer work on this release. We will not be upgrading in the very near future but it is something we need to start considering. So please have a look at using the forum with your regular browser with the following modification One Click Hide/Show Postbits and give us feedback.

Any other thought you may have on this subject please post them here, I will go on what feedback I get from this thread. So remember if you do not post any comments I will take it as a given you have no issues with us dropping Tapatalk completely from the forum.

I use Tapatalk for about 10% of my TT forum viewing so I'd like TT to keep it, but ... no big issue if you have to let it go.
I honestly don't understand that stuff in the link, when my computer (or forum) is working I never change anything and am happy with the same old same old.

Just have a look at the bottom below the post box for the Hide Postbits click on it and see the difference. It will then change to Show Postbits and if you click on it again it will be back to normal.

OK I did that and see a compressed presentation, no problem one way or the other. Personally I think the "postbits" showing is friendlier, if that makes any sense.

Yes it is but if you using your phones browser the compressed version works better because of the limited screen size. This is what I do on my phone and I very seldom use TapaTalk but use Opera Mini as my browser and I still get the full feel of the forum but in a compressed version

I use Tapatalk for about 50 % of my on line time so it would cause an inconvenience until I got use to using my browser. With that said, if it goes away, it goes away and I'll just have to use the browser. I might not like it or I might learn to like it more, who knows but I will say being able to hide the Postbits helps a bunch on the phone.

I agree that hiding the Postbits helps when viewing the forum from my smart phone. I don't use Tapatalk; so I don't care one way or the other. When I am in North Carolina or or at the ranch I don't have internet service nor cell phone service.

Are you saying this will be built into or easy to add to the Vb software? It looks like a good way to go. I assume the users will have to download the app to their phones?

Well it is a bit grey right now as one minute it is built in and the next we are not sure (They may have their own mobile apps). What we do know what ever they do it will be part of the new version and not a modification as we have now in Tapatalk.

I've been using Tapatalk almost exclusively lately.

I also think getting new members by offering it is great.

I never used the hide postbits feature when on a PC anyhow.

I'd just hate seeing Tapatalk go away.

Posted using Tapatalk 2 via my RAZR

Have you tried using your phone browser at all with the hide postbits to see how it feels. TapaTalk would be replaced by something else that would give you more connection to the actual forum with all it's options.

I can connect to the forum through my phone's browser (IE); but I hate the small screen and the miniature keyboard. It is frustrating, difficult work for me to try to post using my smart phone.
