Has anyone experienced the side stand lug slightly bending, therefore the bike leans more than it should?
I’ve thought whether to buy or hire one of those induction coil heaters and see if it’ll straighten out. Wondering if anyone has tried that?
cheers

To coin a phrase, "They All Do That, Sir" ... It is down to not enough thought during design and testing - the lug is as fitted to all other Triumphs, mounted as on all other Triumphs. But: a T160 is heavier than other Triumphs, the frame tube is further from the ground than other Triumphs, and then some idiot thought it would be a good idea to put a kink in the T160 sidestand near the pivot, so most of the stand is even further from vertical than other Triumph sidestands. Then there are the owners who think it is ok to kickstart the bike on the sidestand (instead of making the electric-start work) ... :y22:

I have always just periodically put the bike on the centrestand, either have a second person hold on to the bike or lean over it myself, bounce up and down on the extended sidestand until the lug/stand is back at about the right angle. However, it is possible to break the lug ...

If you have the engine out of the frame, the cure is to take the frame to Martin Russell at Rustler Racing, he will brace the lug, as I believe he did originally on the Les Williams Legends.
