Hello,

Whilst riding yesterday, the engine sounded like it was choking. I stopped immediatly on the side of the road and realised that there was a hose in between the left carb and the cylinder that was lose.
See pictures.

I put it back in place and the engine started running fine after that.
Is this something that needs to be replaced? What is this hose for?

Best regards
Yves

You could put a small clamp on it to keep it in place. Previous owner on my Thruxton removed the whole system and capped it. Removing them all together might not be good if your local inspection requires the system on your motorcycle. I suspect your local requires it. The tip of the hose looks a bit compressed, like a clamp had been there. Does the other one on the other carb have a clamp?

I believe it’s part of the Air Injection system, a vacuum port. AI removal kits usually include a cap to plug the port.
You could be very well be right. There is plenty about these bikes and their systems that I don't know about.

My '06 T100 has that hose and it's held in place by a tiny wire clamp - the type with ears that you squeeze together to expand it when removing or fitting.
No need to replace anything. Put it back on firmly and use a bit of twisted wire to hold it there - or an OEM clamp if you can get one.

Agree, pretty much any small tube clamp would work as would a piece of copper electrical wire twisted tight with pliers. The type with ears I like a lot. They are quick to take off as needed.

Thank you for your suggestions everyone.
Ive ordered some 10 mm double spring clips for breather pipe vent hose. Perfect!

This is what I have on the other carb - See picture
It's connected to my oil chainer at the moment. I imagine that I would have to put a Stop on it if I decide to get rid the oil chainer?
Anyone can let me know if both are connected (and where to) on an original T100 of that same period? My T100 is from 2006.

Best regards
Yves
