I'm going to attempt this build again. Last time started a New House build got in the mix and won. I've accumulated parts for awhile and I reached the age of retirement and time on my hands again so here we go. A 1970 bare frame was found and not so much unlike the old saying "I've got a nice set of wheels I think I'll build something". I hope you'll follow along and help me through this and the worst that can be done is to meet some new people.

Best guess at present is 70 650 - raised 'pad' on the steering head casting is 69 onwards, front engine plates (if correct) and mounting are 70, frame was superseded by the OIF for 71. VIN stamped on the raised 'pad' should clarify.

Btw, the attached horn might be a rare Windtone, photo of the other side?

Some good news as of today, a source of vintage triumph parts, NOS and used, as well as a retired knowledgeable mechanic not far away from me. This 650 may just live again.

It is/was a 1970. Thanks Rudie I know you know your bikes.

My old chopper bike from back in the day hence the 66 TR6SR power plant. We did a top end job a few (10) years back. Disassembly and sandblast top end, machine shop re-bore with new pistons .20 over and rings, new valves and guides, valves seated and paint. And it just sat until a couple weeks ago. Motor was plucked from frame and assessing its general health.
