The service schedule for the Street Twin has every box checked for 20K miles. This includes items way outside my skill set such as adjust the throttle body plate, check valve clearances, camshaft timing, and lubricate steering head bearings. I went to a local Triumph dealer to ask if they had a 20K mile service package and how much it would cost. I was thinking that would be something they do regularly and would have a list of services for a certain price, but the guy in the service department seemed uncertain how to answer and ended up giving me an "around" price of $1,500. Is this price in the ballpark? Any advice from the collective? I've got about 16K mile now, so I've got several months before this service would be due. Thanks!

$1500 is insane!
dealer service are $$$$ so DIY as much as possible with the help of an aftermarket service manual + if lucky find a good local TRUSTED independent, even luckier post your location as there are many savy DIYers that may work for a fair price

Get a shop manual and start tackling some of the items now. You don’t need to wait till 20k. If there’s an item you can’t do have the dealership or an independent mechanic look at it. Just my thought. I wouldn’t pay 1.5K either happily.

I do my own work but there are a few required maintenance items that require tools I do not have and the dealers computer, such as the brake fluid change at the 10K service. I did the 500 service and another oil change at 5,000.

Yeah, I was pretty sure that $1500 was excessive. I have been doing every bit of maintenance I can tackle with help from manuals and YouTube videos. What I've spent on tools is way less than the cost of paying someone to do basic work like oil changes, brake pads, and other such tasks. But as @Vector points out, there are some jobs I'm just not able to do.

I'm locate in the Inland Empire area of Southern California in case anyone here knows of a trustworthy independent mechanic in my area.
