I discovered him AFTER he died. I'm a guitar player myself and played in bar bands for many years, but i never really was into blues that much. He's more to the rock side in a way bit still very much blues. but in any case right after he died i somehow discovered him and that was the beginning of a major obsession. We always included a number of Stevies tunes in our sets and they were my fav tunes we did. Got the el mocombo video and nearly wore that out. Then the internet comes along and i wore my mouse out clicking on his videos. The guy was just so on fire all the time. he just had so much energy, which for a guitar player is a huge plus, as was obvious watching him play. Of course we later found out a lot of that energy came from "energy drinks". Glad he got straight finally, but of course then soon after he did that damn heli had to go and crash....
