At around midnight last night the RCMP clocked a vehicle going 90 mph in a 60 zone.
They gave chase, but the driver took off and the chase went well over 100 before the vehicle was stopped.
The driver turned out to be a 61 year-old grandmother!
30 minutes later they clocked another vehicle going 97 in a 60 zone.
This driver was 18 years-old.
If that kid thinks insurance for an 18 year-old is already very expensive, just wait until this goes on his record.
We have a "stunting" law in this province for such speeding infractions and the fine is a severe $2,422.50, (taxes included of course), seizure of the vehicle and loss of license for a week - not including any other charges like no license, no insurance, running from the cops, etc.
Keep on filling the provincial coffers with big money fines and maybe my annual provincial tax will go down
