This is a question I ask myself from time to time. Has it all been my choice or has other influences caused my circumstance, and does it even matter. Well I am here today because I've lived long enough to be here and now in the questionable age of what the heck happens next.
So I finally did it I've purchased a Triumph Twin. Something I've pondered since about 1972 when I graduated grade school and started high school. You see a bachelor neighbor, Ralph, was a kind of a mentor to my brothers and I as well as a few other friends. I had much better friends that had and shared all kinds of, now golden classics, small manageable two wheeled fun machines. However old Ralph was riding Triumphs. In the day they were known for their heritage, handling and basic characteristics, some good and some bad. Does anyone talk about, Lucas, the Prince of Darkness anymore? Well they were beyond my sense of adventure for daily service and honestly my pocketbook. So starting around 1969 all us kiddos took to mini-bikes, Rupps torque-converter drive with a 3HP Brigs that had an easily accessible governor for some extra fun, then min-motorcycles, Benelli 50 bored to a 65 with honest to goodness gears, then finally street-able small motorcycles, Honda's CB100 that revved to 11,000RPM and then a CB350G. I've had 20+ bikes on and off since, all on the premise of economical use and affordability. So happy with Triumph's current edition of the 900 twin I did it. I hope to share and receive a bit of info here that isn't found elsewhere.
