I had a busy day yesterday and was out of pocket all day. My cell phone wouldn't even work. It was a great day.
lol I always smile when you use that phrase "out of pocket" as this side it means you were down on cash

Same in Australia, out of cash or did a deal that left you with less than you started with.
It can also mean the same here such as an out of pocket expense.
Around here it would mean unavailable and as Carl said out of pocket expense would probably be closer in meaning here to what out of pocket means to you but not quite the same.

I'm just catching up with this thread.
"Out of pocket" means that here too. Also used to mean you spent a lot of money, were forced to spend money or are nearly broke.
I'm at work right now, so i'm VERY much IN pocket ! :y8:
My old age pension check showed up today so I'm IN pocket now
But the monthly bills also arrived so tomorrow I'll be OUT pocket :y8:
