I'm pretty sure that deer can read......

They always seem to ignore the deer crossing signs and J-Walk right in your path!

Back when I first got married, I had a deer leap completely over my Honda Accord!!! It was amazing!

Funny that you should mention that. I had a deer do the same thing to me, but I was on a bike.
I saw the flash of brown that was a deer out of the corner of my eye and it was coming at me full tilt. I flattened on the tank and waited for the impact but it never came.
That was one of the few times that I was instantly frightened on a bike, but I couldn't believe that we didn't hit. A second later I knew the incident was over, but I had no idea why. The deer was so close there wasn't any way it could have missed me.
My buddy was right behind me and said later that the deer jumped high enough to clear me and went on its way into the forest.

I live with and work with the Amish every day. They are definitely different in their ways.

They don't believe in insurance, electricity, motor-driven anything, or even things like mirrors, zippers, or buttons.

Obviously they are true pacifists and exempt from military service.

Somehow I missed this thread altogether.

Great vid Seeker, love the music too.
A nice smooth style you got going on the bike there.

The start of the vid with the trees so close the road would freak me out though.
I've had very close encounters with deer in those forested areas. With the trees so close to the road you don't get much warning when they jump out:y13:

I've had similar problems with monkeys, guinea fowl, metro cops - they jump out of the bushes and start your heart going.

It helps that I know the road like the back of my hand, but I could set up for turns much better if I could use all the road instead of half of it.

That was my first attempt at recording a ride with the camera mounted underneath the nose of the fairing. My windscreen would have distorted it. But I had to overdub the sound with music because all you could hear was wind noise.

As I was watching your video on my phone I realized about half way thru it I was leaning the phone into the corners with you. Needless to say, I was having fun watching it. Thanks for posting it.

AJ, I am another who seems to have missed this thread. That is a great video and lovely riding country. I enjoyed the video's of the Amish buggies. When I was stationed at Ft Dix, NJ, I spent a lot of time riding in Lancaster County. Beautiful scenery and story book farms. Great food, too!

Yep.....It's nice out there in Lancaster area, but it's like another State in the East. The terrain is completely different (ie: flat).

AJ, it is not flat - compared to the Southeastern seaboard and Gulf coast. It has a lot of gentle rolling hills. In Florida, you define a hill as anyplace where water does not stand when it rains. :y2:
