Didn't Ariel make a square 4 engine? Or am I thinking of someone else?
If the photos are correct, I wouldn't buy one of those bikes at a 80% discount.
Why bring back a nostalgic name if you're not going to capitalize on the nostalgia? I'm still waiting on a smaller, nostalgic recreation in the 350-500cc range; preferably a UK or Italian make. Make it look like something from the 50's or 60's with a flat seat, an exposed 4 stroke, air-cooled engine, twin shock swingarm rear end, chain drive, chrome fenders and a teardrop steel tank. No transformer styling please! Cast wheels, tubeless tires, disc brakes, electric starting and fuel injection are all welcome updates.
In the USA well-restored bikes in the 250-500cc range (of any make) from the 50's to 60's are very pricey - much more than a larger new bike, and much more than what would be a very profitable price for a new bike of this size. Most of the buyers of these bikes would much rather have a similar new bike.
Duh? The reason I bough a new T100 was to get the nostalgic feel and look, but the reliability of a new bike with modern updates. Surely someone else will eventually recognize this unmet demand?
