Here we able to do shopping at red traffic light or even green one if you like. You are able to find all sorts of items ranging from

Fruit & Vegetables
Electronic Items
Household items
Clothing
Plastic garbage bags
Fun toys
Women's hand bags
Jewellery

In fact if you can carry it they will sell it at the lights.

In this video if you look to the left all their stock can be seen in plastic bags against the power distribution box. Under the tree the flags can be seen and when I turn the corner you can see the tyres that have been converted into children swings. Not sure if anyone else has this type of thing where they live. The worst is when people are buying stuff and the light turns green now you must wait for their purchase to conclude before you can go.

We have panhandlers at some of our traffic lights, but not any commerce like in the video.
I'm quite sure that sort of selling wouldn't be allowed here - and would be the last place I would do any "shopping" anyway BGRIN
There was a time we had "squeegee kids" wanting to wash your windshield for a handout, but that phase has passed.

When we were in Santiago, Chile, years ago we often saw people at traffic lights putting on a quick show of juggling, acrobatics or some sort of entertainment for a handout.

We have vendors along country roads and at country intersections selling produce, honey and boiled peanuts. But you have to pull off of the road to make purchases.
