Saturday, June 23rd, Mabel and I took a 226 mile ride through the mountains of North Carolina. The ride included the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Parkway.

This map shows both the Cherohala and the Dragon. The Tail of the Dragon is US 129 and begins at Tapoco and ends at Chilhowee.

First we rode the Dragon heading north west from Robinsville. This was the first time I had ridden two up on the Dragon; so I took it easy.

From the Dragon we looped to the Tennessee end of the Cherohala. the Cherohala is a beautiful ride and much more relaxing than the Dragon. The Dragon is technical and requires total concentration.

This is the highest elevation on the Skyway.

From the Cherohala we returned to Robinsville and then back to Hayesville and the farm. It was a beautiful ride with a pretty lady and a good time.

Thanks guys.

The Dragon photos were taken by Kilboy, XtremeSports, and 129Slayer. The photographers are positioned at various points along the 11 miles of the Dragon.

Now I get it.
Do they do this just for the fun of it and their own use, and others to take if they want to, or do they sell the pics or whatever?

Hey, you didn't show us the 129Slayer photos of you riding the double yellow. :Opps2:

They sell the photos. Killboy does it where you can copy smaller photos for free. His website is very informative.

Actually, I had just passed a slow moving HD (illegally) when I was hugging the double yellow line. :y2:

Here is the route we took from Robbinsville to the Dragon to the Cherohala and back to Robinsville.
