So 12/26/15 a package arrived to me from Australia .....yep..... ----I ordered a custom build kit for a copy of a Rickenbacker Bass guitar.
And THIS is the pictorial of what ensued. I was wanting to recreate the iconic bass I remebered from the 70's .....like a relic that had laid around someones pot smoke filled basemnt for the last 40 years....wait thats me not the bass........where was I ??? Right the kit.
I AGED the metals. used a hand rubbed esspresso color stain and a light poly clear coat...... Sounds awesome

I think I nailed it.

Looks good. Well done. Can I ask where you got it from as I too loved the 70's Rickenbacker Bass guitar ? Although I would never part with my 61 Fender Jazz.

Dang man, you nailed it. BBEER :y45:BBEER

I've seen a few LP and Strat kits I was tempted to order but never did. I just might have to pony up and order one of each now. There was also a could bass kits but no Rickenbacker. Maybe after Kyle leaves for college in August I'll order one to put together for him when he comes home for Christmas.

Thanks Guys,
Hemi this is my first kit but will not be my last. Check out ebay the things are dang cheap......great way to put in a long weekend lol and you can use the parts given or you can upgrade to what ever Kyle may like as far as pick ups or hardware etc. :)

Hey Adrian, how come you post the good photos of your build on a bike forum and only small out of focus shots on the Pit Bull guitar forum o_O.
One week and my 12 string Gibson (copy) arch top kit arrives. Think I'll post build progress on our local gardening forum :sneaky:.

Hey man, how big is your collection these days? I might have to join that gardening forum to see your build. :y2:

Adrian and I are running neck and neck re size of collection.
SHMBO is the real player in our family, between us it will be 19 next week.
Don't mix collection size with playing ability :(, I suck.

That D'Angelico is real nice Hemi.
We have 3 hollow body electrics and a kit on the way next week.
This is the most recent acquisition, a "White Falcon",

Add to those a Taylor 618e and 6 US Strats all in 2015 and you'll possibly understand why our house renovations have stalled.
It's all Adrian's fault, yep she had her Maton 12 string and I had my Les Paul, then Adrian started my further education, now we have nice guitars and live in a tent, LOL.

My Strats, it's an illness!
In my defense each one sounds a little different except for the 2 American Specials, I got them because I loved the colour.

I love the look of the "White Falcon." There was an Epiphone version of it at one of our local retailers that I tried to get Kyle interested in but he didn't want a hollow body.

My only acquisition of late were the two cigar box Diddley Bows I made the boys.

"Cigar Box Diddley Bows" were new to me so naturally I went to Mr Google ... very interesting.
I have a feeling a couple of those will end up in our music room.
