Post in the for sale section as well. Good luck. Looks to be in great condition.
May I ask why you must sell?
I suffered some major muscle and stamina loss last year. I am no longer able to ride. I can hardly maneuver it around in the garage. I do not have the stamina to work on it like i used to years ago. Most all of the years I had it- all the maintenance was done by the dealer every year. It has not been started since about 2018. I did not have access to it for a few years. It has been stored in a garage and covered. It was never properly stored. The gas sat in it all these years so it needs a total cleaning of the carbs. Plus all the fluids need to be flushed and changed. I am just trying to sell it - i am retired and need the money- of course! lol

I turned 68 this month, I hear ya. I have serious issues with my hands that make turning wrenches difficult. My balance is now a bit off, I am thinking of selling the Rocket and getting a T120. I'd miss the Rocket 3GT it is amazing but it's heavy and a brute.

omg yes, I test drove that years ago, my wife and I.... I loved it, but omg omg it was more than I could ever handle. Instead of motorcycles I just picked up a used 2012 Miata- this is my summer fun now since I can not ride.

I turned 75 in March, been riding bikes since 1965. Neck/spinal damage has caused weakness in right arm and well, I just don't have the upper body strength I used to have. I love my '96 Thunderbird, but I would really like a lighter, easier bike to move around the garage and put on the lift. Will never part with my Norton Commandos, though!

That's what propmted me to trade the Rocket for the Bobber, it was getting to heavy to deal with. I started with a T-120 while I had the Rocket, then after a few months riding the T-120, traded the Rocket, then added the Thruxton R, and then added the Speed Triple RS. Lighter and lighter and more power and more power, a viscious cyle but dang it's fun!!

You are a mere child! I turn 80 in 4 says. But you are exactly right. That is why I'm now riding a T 120.

Hey, I get it. I'm 78 now and sold my 2000 Thunderbird 2 years ago, after 2 tip overs in the garage. The 3 cylinder Tbird is a handsome and powerful bike, but the center of gravity is too high for me now. I'm still riding my 1965 BSA Lightning. And it hasn't tipped over in the 30 years that I've owned it! It does require more maintenance than the modern Triumph. You know...timing, valves, then pistons and now big end bearings. It's good that I'm retired and have the time to keep working on it.

Great looking bike. TUP

I’m also 78 and Certainly understand your situation. Best of luck
On the sale of the Thunderbird. I’ve been procrastinating on doing the same thing with my collection of Commando’s and modern Triumphs. If anything to be more realistic as to how many bikes that I don’t ride I want to continue to keep

Keep ridin' that BSA, man. I know exactly what you're talkin' about. I have a Sprint RS and a Street Cup. Rode the Cup last year on a 5500 mile journey from PA. Celebrated my 79th B-D in Tucson, AZ. I'm hoping to do one more ride this year. Probably on the St. Cup. The RS was too tall for my short-inseam body even when I bought it in '04. Twenty years later, I'm even shorter! Thanks for your post - glad to hear that there are a few other Seniors out there still riding. "You didn't stop riding 'cause you got old -- You got old 'cause you stopped riding!!"
