I'm not into the café scene so the bike doesn't appeal to me at all, but as long as he likes it that's all that matters.

Last evening I watched a TV program (naked speed [?]) which featured two bikes being built; one in Canada and the other in California.
The California bike (an old CB750) was being built café-style by Kott for the Bostrom brothers.
The Canadian bike was being built for the female Canadian Olympic bobsled champ from an XS650 - also café-style.

I saw that show too! love it. The Bostrom bros seems to be really into the cafe racer thing. I recently purchased the 4 season DVD collection of Cafe Racer TV and they are all over it. Tons of episodes on custom bike builds from all over the world. Some of the episodes can be found on youtube for anyone interested. Do you remember Arlen Ness? well his son, Zach is now running things for the family business and has a custom bike build tv show called "Let it Ride." Episodes can also be found on youtube.
