Wow, could have been a bunch of deaths or real serious injuries. I've seen the feller coming out of the semi windshield before but the others were new.

Seems like there is a big market for dash cams :y2:

I was reading a thread on another forum about a guy who got a ticket for talking on his cellphone while driving. The "catch" was that he was using the built-in Bluetooth that his car was equipped with and hands free use of a cellphone is legal where he lives.

Anyhow, a poster replied that in Russia nearly every vehicle is equipped with two dashcams...one pointed ahead on the road and another pointed at the driver. The reason for that is because police in Russia are notoriously corrupt for giving tickets for "invented" violations and in many instances they can seize your vehicle.

What I wanna know is in a lot of those videos, what the hell are these people thinking driving at those speeds in snow?! I'd be doing 20 MPH on most cases. Some of them appear to be going 60-70 in snow for christ sakes !

Those of us that have lived in snow country for any amount of time probably do drive faster on snow than those that aren't used to would think prudent.

Believe it or not, I prefer a bit of deeper snow than a roadway that has been almost completely cleared of it. You get more traction on a surface like that than one with a thin film of snow.

Now....that being said, nothing goes well, not even AWD or 4WD, on ice.

The trick in snow is just not to do anything suddenly and anticipate.

Well, yeah, ice is deadly. Snow still scares me tho. But ice....a bike won't even stand up on ice. I fear riding twisties even on a warm sunny day if i know temps up there were low enough overnight for ice. Just takes one little patch and you may as well be on steel tires on a glass surface covered with grease. :y2:
