We have a strong cold front advancing today. On the warm side, where we are, the winds are south westerly bringing in Gulf of Mexico moisture. We are under a tornado watch until 17:00. The first squall line is passing over us. We got some hard, torrential rain and a tornado warning was issued. A small tornado touched down south of Orlando, about 25 miles (40 k) south of us. A tornado warning was just issued for Volusia County about 30 miles east of us. The worst is past us; but there is another squall line on the way and the worst one will about 19:00. Not a day for riding! And not a day for the space shuttle to land at the Cape either.

Hope everything works out safe for you over there - nothing to report from the Emerald Isle....just the roads have frozen over!

The worst seems to have passed us. Southeast Florida is taking the pounding now. It doesn't last long. It is just vicious for a short time. Rocky, at least I don't have to shovel the rain! :y114:

Well, it's the 1st official day of Summer here! and the weather is less than ordinary... It's forecasting rain showers and temps as low as 15 deg Cent, sun's out now though but there's no real heat in it. Got soaked riding home from work late last night but for some reason, the Trophy ran better than ever. Must be somethin to do with the cooler air.

Not complaining though, any ride is a good ride. Hope you didn't kop too much crap up there Carl...

Lee. :y18:

Hi Lee. That sounds like cool temps for the first day of summer. By the first day of summer here, we are at 33C plus during the day. We just got some much need rain. A couple of small twisters touched down in Central Florida; but no major damage at all. It was just routine squall lines. But they can and do produce tornadoes.

In Palm Bay, with is just south of the Cape Canaveral area, several homes were damaged, roofs pealed, trees downed, etc. The weather folks are trying to determine if it was a twister or a microburst from the violent squall line. Small twisters and microbursts are quite common in sever thunderstorms.

Glad to hear you escaped the wrath of the crazy weather, Carl.
You're not going to believe this, but here it is 1 December and it's 14C (57F) today :y26:
Welcome to the tropics of Canada :ya2:
