Yesterday we had an approaching cold front meeting warm, moist air. This triggered some violent thunderstorms across Central Florida. It also spawned a tornado. Just south of me in the Orlando metro area, winds were recorded at 90 mph. That is hurricane force. Here, we had winds of 50 - 60 mph. Lots of trees and limbs down, travel trailers, and an and airplane flipped over. Also widespread power outages. We lost power around 14:20 and it was not restored until just before 23:00. Having just moved, I did not have the connection for the generator installed yet. CRY

Wow, that's rough stuff!!!!
We get lots of crappy weather, but very, very rarely do we get any violent thunder storms.
We do get a storm once in a while, but it's usually no big deal.

That it the same massive front that nailed the Midwest with snow and spawned violent weather in the South.

My son in St Louis said it snowed there all day yesterday. He said that if that kept up all night they'd probably get the 1 foot predicted.

We're supposed to get 4-7 inches today

Well, its everywhere. We had 79 degree temps yesterday....barely got out of the 50's today with 20-35 mph wind gusts and 32degree freeze warning low tonight & tomorrow.......ugh That Groundhog pulled a fast one! :y2:

We had 90's last week, yesterday was upper 70's and today 55 with 25 to 30 MPH north winds. Tonight we are headed to around 29 degF with inner Houston down to 34 or so. Yep, love this spring weather.
