Now that's a road trip and a half. Still not jealous View attachment 51135

The photo's were from various trips but our longest and most epic trip was across Canada - coast to coast and back. We left out home in Alberta and headed west through the Rockies into BC and over to the Pacific coast by Prince George BC. Then we turned around and rode back home before continuing east to Cape Breton to see the Atlantic. Turning around again, we rode back west to Alberta. Five weeks on the road and an awesome trip.

It ended up being 14,988 kms and if I'd known that I would have detoured by a couple of kms just to round it out!

By the Pacific.

By the Atlantic.

It was shortly after that trip that I traded my Super Tenere after 85,000 trouble free kms and bought the 1200XE.

If you have nothing better to do, you can read about the entire trip here;

OK, confession time now, having read that, and have in the past had the privilege of visiting some of the places you went to on the west side of Canada and the east side of Canada ( I've yet to do the bit in the middle ) I can safely say that I'm now

What a fantastic trip, something that will stay with you for ever. The most miles I did a few years ago was 4500, that was to Northern Norway then back home via Sweden Finland and Denmark.

Dang, the Finland trip would have been nice to see. When and where in Finland?

1988. Northern Finland, then right down to Helsinki. I was coming from Tromso, in Northern Norway. If you ever get a chance to go to Norway, don't even think about it, just do it. It's an amazing country, and everyone speaks English, better than us English.

You're so right about Norway. I've been there regurlarly for business in the Nineties and really loved people and landscape and their english is much better as my poor germenglish.
However, I've had to travel by plane and car but would love to ride there.

Over the many years before the Berlin wall came down, I travelled to every single country in western Europe, North, South, West, and East.
And I can honestly say that Norway is a cut above the rest, and I'm not just saying this Thomas, but I truly adore Germany, but Norway is on another level. If you do go by bike, whatever you do don't speed, it will cost you dear.
