Just done an 80 mile loop around the Wolds and popped into RAF Wickenby. This memorial is to the 1080 aircrew of Bomber Command who never came back.

He has very limited power down his way lately so may not get to view the longer posts. Hopefully he did, as it was a nice trip.
Didn't know that. That must be a right pain. I don't think we all realise just how much we've got used to all the technology we have now. Hope it's only a temporary power loss.

Lincolnshire was, and still is, known as Bomber county, due to the fact it's relatively flat and that made the county the perfect place to place RAF bases, for raids into occupied Europe. More than 40 by all accounts.

I always try and fit in all your trips as they so interesting and I look forward to seeing them. Even if it now might take a few days to go through some of them during power on time.
