Rev Counter Problem

Hi everyone just wondering if anyone can help. I have a 2000 reg triumph sprint st and when I turn the ignition the rev counter goes straight to 4000 and sits there. When I start the engine the rev counter works but still sits at 4000 when idling. Also I have fitted a second hand ECU to my bike the bike has a sports exhaust on it will it need remapping. Sounding like something definitely wrong with the computer system. Was the ECU specific to your motorcycle? You might be right.

I’d check the programming then first. Of course there could always be something wrong with the ECU. Let us know what you find after you do the remapping. Which mods are on your motorcycle?
