I watch the following channel on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCE1oiL2dYdPv8sOvqge3MiA/videos and was surprised by something I watched on it.

Now I know that like us recovery vehicles like this have the orange flashing lights when they active but in a few of these ones they also had the blue and red flashing light with a siren running. Now this side only police and ambulances are allowed to have the red or blue light and a siren. Do these guys have to apply for these added light and siren if they do real emergency response work. I notice that they also only seem to use them when a major road is blocked by an accident.

So how does this work?

I watched another of these videos and they explained this on the video. Aparently in that state they also get dispatched from emergency services. They will then request that they do a code 3 response on any recoveries that are high risk, they then need to use lights and sirens.

I found this really intresting.
