Recommendations for a good tail bag to fit the stock luggage rack on a 955i Tiger

Never used a tail bag on the Tiger. Thought the supplied mounting plate should give you many options from cheap to high dollar.
The Top Trunk from JC whitney is wonderful, mounts in minutes.....is easily removable, and totally waterproof......and cheap.

Unfortunately I did not get the original mounting plate....off to ebay I go!

The cheap JC Whitney top trunk includes a mounting plate and bolts on with 4 bolts in like 5 minutes. Your Tiger has the back rack all ready I assume, so you should be good to go. With the turn of the key and a push of the release button the trunk comes right off. Carry it in the office, pop it back on when you head home
For the $ it is a GREAT ...lol.. GRRR8 system several others here use the same one. I have had mine for about 5 or 6 years now. Durable, cheap easy to use.

I noticed the one on your bike looks like the Garage pro universal on their site. Did you go with the medium or large?

Went with the large. Then I painted the center strip (its an UGLY pinkish red) black.

I never remove mine so I also added some LED strips in the handle for increased light visibility. I could put some "quick connects" on the wiring if I wanted to remove it I guess. But I never do.

Yes you can't go wrong for 47.00.

Large one here too. One thing to know about these, even with them "locking" to the mounting plate, they aren't locked to the plate and easy to remove without using a key.

I too painted the fugly orange trim piece. Not the best photo of the box but you will notice no orange on it.

Found a better photo of the orange gone.

Does the rear-facing strip actually reflect, or is it just a red trim piece?

It is mostly just a red translucent piece of plastic. It is easy to add additional lighting (there is a nice "channel" behind the plastic) or possibly remove and spray the back of it with a high reflective paint.
