Hello all,

I am finally getting the TR6 back together, your advice and knowledge really helped me with the QD rear wheel, so I hope you don't mind me asking for advice again. I have installed the rear wheel with all correct OEM, the rear wheel centreline is 12mm away from frame spine (under tank) as in the pics I understand that everything must be parallel front to back and everyone has there own ideas how to do this from the research l have done. At this stage I am confident with the installation etc, my rear wheel rim is WM3 so the offset should be 22.3mm (not 20mm as is) I will get the rear wheel relaced to the correct offset or on your advice. So with the rear wheel with correct offset the wheel would be located 10mm to the left or drive side from centre/front wheel. The rear fender bracket off the shock mounts is fabricated ti fit slightly to the left as well? Do these wheels run slightly off centre some people think they do some don't, so it is really hard to get clarity from internet.
Help would be much appreciated.
Having trouble uploading image will get it to you asap.

Any chance of a photo from the back of the wheel spindle arrangement at both sides. Looks like something needs swapping from right to left (as viewed on the photos) to get the tyre away from the swinging arm and to centre the wheel. What year is you TR6?

Mike.

Hi Mike,
Its a 69 with QD rear set up, from parts book everything seems to be ok. The rear fender bracket seems to be purposely made ti fit off centre? Got me stumped, the bike is as, before pulldown it rode perfectly fine.

Thanks for posting the pictures Jeff. Been having a good look at everything available and sorry to say that I cannot find anything to help. However, slaving in the motor and fitting the final drive chain should give a more clearer picture of the true alignment.

Thanks Will, the fact that its a HD rear wheel tells me that its fitted correctly I can only assume it is what it is, I will get the rear wheel relaced to the correct offset or whatever is advised something just doesn't add up, the rear swing arm is the only other piece I can relate to that might be wrong, it's a long shot, but it seems to be the right swing arm?
Its not all torqued up in the rear as far as shock mounts etc, but I can't see anything shifting as far as 10mm to bring it all into alighnment.

Cheers jeffxb
