Hiya

This is more for the local guys as I'm looking to pick up a rain suit locally this week.

I've never purchased a suit before, what should I look out for and can you recommend a brand and/or place of purchase?

I have a Triumph 2 piece, and it is superb. Not the cheapest, but worth it in my view.

Lionel (one of the singing Rats) has a triumph 1 piece, which is also good, but takes about an hour to put on.
(More straps and clips than a dominatrixs's dungeon)

I got a two piece at Mosskays it wasn't very expensive (about R600) and it is great!! It's easy to get into as it has lining in the pants and the jacket so you don't end up hopping around on the side of the road in pouring rain trying to get your boot unjammed. Being two piece also makes it easier to get in and out of. You have the choice of wearing pants only if the rain isn't too bad and you wear a waterproof jacket.

I'm sure you'll find soemthing similar at Full Throttle.

good luck :y18:

no need for a rainsuit here.
Truth is, I avoid riding in the rain like the plague.

If you ride in Florida in the summer, you are going to get wet sooner or later. Pop up thundershowers materialize rapidly and are over just a quickly.

I just bought myself my Xmas present from my wife this past Saturday and it was the best all-around rainsuit I know of. I hunt and fish a lot and a great rain suit is almost a necessity when you are a diehard tournament fisherman. Once you get wet. the day is miserable and ruined.

The rain suit I bought was Bass Pro Shop's 100MPH GoreTex. It consists of a pair of bib overalls, a long Parka and a wind proof zip out liner that doubles as a jacket. This is all superheavy close knit Nylon with a full GoreTex liner, and all joints and contact points are double layered. $570.00 for the set. You cannot beat GoreTex for rainwear. The main drawback is the bulk of really good rainwear

The only thing that is comparable in terms of waterproofing would be a pair of neoprene waders and a good duck hunting parka.

I know there are some excellent motorcycle raisuits, but all of the good ones I have seen make a $570 rainsuit look cheap.

However, I recently bought an all-weather parka that's supposedly rain proof that was on a final clearance sale for $59; I am looking for a set of bib overalls to go with it. I may not get a color or style match, but I might put together a very good MC rainsuit for under $150.

You two are being horrible. Sad thing is Farty has grown into my size of rainsuit as for Lioness best you get the jacket upsized to squeeze your ample bosom in :y114:

This will probably cause Farty a hot flush :ya2:
