It’s been cool here for almost 2 weeks now , got up to melting yesterday but today is cold and sunny , at least the panels are making some good power . Don’t know if mentioned it before but I’ve been plagued with chest issues all winter , like many others I gather . First it was walking pneumonia and now it’s bronchitis, sweety has it also . The 2nd set of pills are working well on the bronchitis but the pneumonia started in early November and I think I’m over it now . Missed a lot of Rotary meetings and hockey games so hopefully this is the beginning of the end .
We have close to a foot of snow but no serious storms yet , the kind of winter you don’t mind up here but not much chance we’ll make it to spring without getting whacked .
Biggest news is we have a new fox . Almost got a photo of him , it’s on the large size , and guess what colour he is , Black , from Scandinavia maybe ? and he’s wintering in my driveway culvert which is weird but the bits of woods we have left around here since the hurricane may have made it a good choice . The coyotes , and we have big bold ones , have pushed the foxes into suburbia over the years .
Finally , might as well fess up , I was inducted into The Atlantic Motorsports Hall of Fame back in November . It was a bit more elaborate a deal than I would have thought and the bride really enjoyed it , what a prize , an overnight trip to Fredricton NB and she’s happy for a week . There were ten inductees , a varied group of characters to say the least and all much more deserving than I . One fellow accepted his award via the big screen from California where he was competing in AA/ Fuel at the Fall Nationals . I knew his parents when they were running a Super Stock Nova in the 70’s .
The inductees all signed a checkered flag before things got underway and towards the end of the proceedings the flag was auctioned off . I was not aware of who was bidding it up from the back of the room but he got it for $2500 .
Later as we were leaving he presented me with the flag …
