Easy Rider actor, Peter Fonda, passed away on Friday from lung cancer. He was 79.

I had never heard of Easy Rider until after I came back to bikes in 1992, and I had never seen the movie.
A couple of years ago the movie was on TV and I recorded it to watch later.
Well, maybe it's just me, but I wondered what all the fuss was about because I thought it was just dumb and stupid.

Watched Easy Rider it many years ago when I was a teen I think. Did not do anything for me either. Kind of hard to follow.

I read about his passing yesterday as well.

I agree I never understood all the hype around the movie either, maybe it was because you never had many bike related movies at that time.

Never did much for me either but i liked it in a way because i was building a chopper at the time, nothing like youth, piss and vinegar!

He was a great actor .... but as you all say easy rider was a bit of a strange film !

Movie didn’t do anything for me either. But it probably kept H D alive . Lead to huge popularity of choppers , not so good .

My son and his 1970 Honda CT70 with Peter Fonda. This was taken last year at the Steve McQueen car show here in Chino Hills, Ca. He was very nice and friendly. Couldn’t show my son easy rider so I showed him Ghost Rider.

Being a celeb, and being pestered all the time has to be a pain after a while, but that goes with notoriety.
