Gromit, you mentioned Latin. My mum still explains things to me and makes Latin references. Most English is over my head so how do you think I go with Latin.
Yesterday my mum's oldest and best friend from her school days flew up from Melbourne to stay for 2 weeks, mum has recently stopped driving so who do you think is running them about (and keeping his mouth shut).:y10:

If I were you, I'd also keep my mouth shut! Mom Rules - remember that! My attitude towards Latin is: "Latin killed the Romans and it came damn close to killing me too"

I got a Grade 9 Fail in Latin O Level. I just couldn't get to grips with it.

I easily passed French without even trying.

I did 5 years college for Electrical & Electronic Engineering. They gave us English lectures and homework throughout the 5 years, though it wasn't an examinable subject. Why? Because we'd have to write reports & business letters etc. in future years. I've always worked on the commercial side of engineering and have written thousands & thousands of communications & business letters. Those 5 years of doing English at college proved to be most helpful to me in my working life.
