During TS Allison they are saying we received 250 to 300 billion gallons of rain water. The current estimate to 0700 this morning was between 425 and 500 billion gallons of rain have fallen and it's just getting started. We're still in for some major rains as Harvey has turned east Southeast and headed back toward the Gulf again. They don't think it's going to make it all the way back to the Gulf before it turns back North and come right over us.
A government weather station 7 miles north of me is reporting we received 46.91 inches of rain. Another government weather station 8 miles south of me is reporting 51.16 inches of rain. I'll try to share a few photos in a day or two.
Our local Triumph dealer. The dealership sits on a high foundation that was about 2 or 3 foot higher than previous floods on this property. This flood water is from the San Jacinto River which is flooding due to the release of water from Lake Conroe. The record for release flow at Lake Conroe Dam was 33,000 cfm. During Hurricane Harvey the gates were opened to over 79.000 cfm.
The photos in this article takes a look at what other areas would be covered if Harvey had happened over them. Harvey covered about 1/4 of the state of Texas. A quarter doesn't sound big untill you see how large that area is when overlaid other states.
