Borrowed from Marius Stander a South African biker.
Just an opinion from an old school biker.
It's My Personal Opinion and I am Available to Be Engaged Should Anyone Feel A Need To Engage Me
"There is Something Going On in the Bikers World, Majority of the Real Ones Have Parked Their Bikes and Are Now Observing What s Going On"
The essence of riding a bike is lost .
Today it's no longer about the Bike + Riding, it's about 1. What you Ride, 2. What you Wear, 3. Who you know 4. Your setup at the Rally blah blah blah.
VIP syndrome + Partying + Girlfriends + Boyfriends (mind you who are non bikers) have all taken the centre stage. Our Charity Programmes are no longer about helping the needy but Social Media and brand positioning. I have nothing against what we do for charity but How we doing it, WHY CAN'T we unite as differerent neighboring clubs and join our efforts in doing charitable deeds in order to reach a broader audience? Why must it be about my club.
The HATRED + ANIMOSITY + BETRAYAL +
+ JEALOSY that exist in the Bikers World is disheartening and causes more enemies than the friends it's supposed to be creating "Fake Brotherhood"
MONEY MONEY MONEY, Bikers ask now "How Much we getting" before asking Why Are We Supposed to Be Doing It and Who is it Helping. Imagine a kid doing his matric coz he loves Bikes and ask Bikers to take him to his matric dance first thing we ask "How Much We Getting Paid" What are about what we can do for that kid and the lasting memories we would give that kid?
BOOZE BOOZE BOOZE - The Booze budget at bikers event is a shame, there is nothing wrong with drinking Alcohol, there is nothing wrong with Alcohol but there is everything wrong when our Annual Alcohol budget exceeds our Annual Charity Budget as Bikers, all of us.
BIKE TRAILERS, Are now a status just 1 Question, How did the Real Ones live without Trailers? Why do we make an emergency tool to be a Show of Financial Muscle and in short a Show off. How on earth do you go to a rally with a bike on a trailer and the only thing you do is Rev it? Where is the Bond between the Man and Machine?
I've come to a conclusion that we are complicating a very simple thing that only requires Man/Woman on a Machine and the Road. No funny business and no complications and no competition, no Accommodation, No VIP BUT Just a Tent, Fire, Water and Pots with GREAT COMPANY and SUPER FUN
What I ride doesn't matter but what matters is that what I ride has 2 wheels and I can ride it - I am a Biker coz I went through all the tests to become part of the Bikers World, I am a Biker coz I have the love, loyalty and passion for this machine on two wheels. SIMPLE
HOWEVER
In reference to THE REAL ONES as the writer refers.
The Real Ones were content as water in a barrel UNTIL The newbies of the millenium generation flaunted Higher Education and or attained wealth to make a statement in an increasingly artificial society who have not evolved from the rigors of physical toil and suffering to proclaim a stake in society...and have not learnt the hard way to give respect to those who came before them and who forgot that it was the blood sweat and tears of hard and physical labour that paved their ( the milleniums ) way to prosperity. Instead of giving the Real Ones the respect and appreciation they deserved .they were frowned upon because if their Old School ways and where a hand shake in agreement with a brother meant more than an educated fancy worded contract.
THUS
The REAL ONES had to start protecting what they held sacred and true..and so Guidelines.rules and regulations became a necessity and a means to channel the milleniums autrocity,s into a form of respect and recognition..
Gone are the days where problems and misunderstandings were sorted amongst men...no..today the courts have to decide between right and wrong and a BACKBONE is something you find in a museum on a school tour.
RIDE TO LIVE..
IF IT ISNT IN YOUR HEART..DONT PUT IT ON YOUR BACK
