Oil Change

My service manual is telling me that my next service is at 6000 miles....is this right? Had my first break in service at 600.

Yes, that is correct. The service intervals are in 6000 mile increments. Because I used to ride in dusty, dandy conditions, I changed my own oil and filter at 3000 miles - and checked or cleaned the air filter. I have a Uni air filter. I now change my oil and filter at 4000 mile intervals. If you change your own oil, be sure to use a synthetic motorcycle specific oil with a JASO MA rating. The JASO is the most important. You do not have to use the overpriced Triumph branded oil. I caution against using automobile motor oils. Automotive oils contain friction reducers than can cause wet clutches in motorcycles to slip.

Thats what I liked about the Rocket , intervals every 10000 miles .
Suzuki is every 3700 , stupid number but there you go

Or its a service every 12 months , which ever comes first

That is correct, 6000 miles or 12 months, which ever comes first. Since I average 10,000 miles per year, I'm not concerned with the annual part!

Very good. That plan was not available in the US when I bought my 03.
