Dark and early tomorrow morning, Dad and I will head out to NC. We will spend a week to ten days up there. The fall leaves should be at their peak by the time we leave.

It is about a ten hour drive. But we will stop at my friend's ranch on the way up (and probably on the way back). Dad wants to see the ranch and I left my camera there. I want it for the trip. I tried to get her to go up with us; but she is too tied down with the ranch to get away at this time. She has a house about 30 miles from Dad's farm.

I am going to take the Tiger in the back of the truck. My riding will be limited; but I will get some riding in - and some adventure riding in. I can guarantee that I will eave and itinerary of my adventure riding with Dad when I go - and I will stick to that itinerary. I learned my lesson last time! :y2:

I do not have internet nor mobile phone service on the farm. I do have service in town.

Thank you Dave and Kerry. Kerry I am sorry we will not ge able to hook up at Daytona. I was looking forward to that.

Rocky, my Dad is convinced motorcycles are not safe. :y2:

Oh dear :y26: :y25:
My dad didn't care one way or the other, but my mother revealed years later that she didn't go to sleep until she heard that old BSA rumble into the driveway late at night back when I was a teenager.

Mothers are the same the world over.
Mine said the same.

Carl have a great trip and enjoy being out and about with your dad.

We arrived safely in NC. We had rain most of way from about Macon, GA all the way in. Yesterday was nice; this morning, more rain.

On the way north, we stopped by my friend’s ranch and she proudly showed Dad her cattle and pastures. Dad was impressed; he does not know how she has run and maintained it by herself all these years.

I unloaded the bike yesterday. In the process I slipped off of the ramp and the bike fell. Fortunately, I was able to hold it and lay it across the ramp I fell off of. No damage; but there I was with the bike horizontal lying across two ramps. I called the guy who leases the pasture, he brought a friend, and the three of us were able to lift the bike enough to get the rear wheel on the ground instead of on the ramp. They then picked the front and I pulled the truck forward to get the second ramp out of the way. I had laid furniture pads underneath so they could lower the bike onto pads instead of the concrete. From there we easily picked it up.

I have now found a bank that is level with the tail gate and I can easily ride the bike into the truck bed without needing ramps. I know better than to try to unload the bike by myself! I can do it easily with the Bonnie; but the Tiger has a much higher center of gravity. I did get a nice ride in and I hope to ride this afternoon.
