Today is the 72nd anniversary of the greatest invasion in history.
The incredible sacrifice made by many nations to pull this off is not to be forgotten.

My father took part is WW2, i will never forget, but alot of people here have forgotten or were never taught about it the right way in school.

Having been to the all Normandy beaches landing sites many times, I for one can't imagine what must have been going through their minds when the ramps came down, and all hell broke loose. These guy's had a level of courage that I doubt I could come close too. They did an interview with a British veteran after the film Saving Private Ryan, and he said that this film was as close to the real thing as possible. You could tell in his voice that it was far worse on the day than any film could portray, fortunately the interviewer understood this and didn't ask dumb questions.
Those who served by Land Sea or Air, from all nations, the people of today owe them a debt that can never truly be repaid.
