Hello, all,

A newbie post here. My wife, Marcie, and I purchased our first motorcycle 18 months ago, a 2018 Triumph Bonneville T100. Ironically, it was Marcie's suggestion that we purchase a motorcycle so that we could ride together. We just returned from our first longer trip, a 660 mile, four day trip through western Colorado. Some of our friends have told us that we are crazy as I am 78 years old, but trying not to "Let the Old Man In" (Toby Keith). We purchased the bike from Triumph Albuquerque; Scott, Jesse, Bob, and Noel at Triumph ABQ have all been most helpful to us beginning riders. After 6100 miles of riding, I still consider myself a beginner, and am looking forward to some more advanced instruction (took the MSF beginners course twice), and perhaps some track instruction at Albuquerque.

Welcome to TT from Eastern Canada.
Never too late to start something new.
Definitely get some more training if possible.
It's a matter of survival that we as motorcyclists need to know how to get out of a bad situation, because the many self absorbed four wheeled road users today are not watching out for you.
Have fun.

Thank you, Carl, Greyfell and Qship for your kind words of welcome. Carl, did you serve in Viet Nam? Flags might indicate so. I was a Navy A7 attack pilot in Viet Nam, flying off the Ticonderoga.

Hello and welcome also from the east coast of Canada BBEER
There are many here in your age group, and many who came back to bikes after years away, but also many who have ridden for decades.
A7 pilot. Wow, I bet you have some stories to tell!

Thank you for your service! I was serving during Viet Nam; but I was in Panama during that time - well Panama and other places close by. The Gold Star flag is for my youngest son who was killed in an AH-64 crash while deploying to Bosnia. The Blue Star flag is for my step son who is still serving in the Army.

Carl,
Thank you for your reply; thank you for your service, too. I am sad for the loss of your son, and hope for the safety of your stepson. Please say "Thank you" to him for me.

Thank you, Craig. I will pass that on to him. We are a military family. My dad was a USCG WWII vet. My oldest son is a retired OH-58 Army pilot with three combat tours. My oldest daughter and her hubby are West Point grads and served their required time.

Thank for your service and your combat time.
