Hey fellow riders,

I just recently picked up a brand new Triumph Tiger 800xc and I am new to riding the roads. I have ridden dirt bikes my whole life (off and on) but was convinced to get my endorsement.

The adventure bikes appealed to me as being the best of both worlds. I loved riding big thumpers in the foothills of Mt. Rainier and around the NW, so it was down to the Tiger 800xc and the F800GS...Tiger won obviously.

The bike only has a little more than 500 miles and I just completed my oil change. One of my first rides was Windy Ridge and wow, what a great ride on a beautiful day. Can't get much better in my opinion.

I am looking forward to gleaning some knowledge on the bike as well as riding tips in general from everyone here.

Darin, welcome to the forum from an 800XC rider in the opposite corner of the nation. Congrats on your Tiger. You sure live in some excellent Tiger country.

Thanks for the welcomes all. I am very excited to have the bike and love riding it when I can. Time to decide on some panniers. Any input would be great. I have done a bit of research and the Jesse luggage set up seems to be nice as well as the Zega Pro. I noticed that the posts are supposed to be bike specific, so I hope I am in the right area. Pics to come shortly...just want to make sure I post them in the correct area :-D

Thanks! Ok, I just tried to post a couple quick pics. Not sure where they landed but I saw them in a gallery...ugh such a newbie :-D

WELCOMEWelcome from across the pond, I was lucky enough to be able to do a 6 week tour of the NW and Canada back in 95. Stunning is an understatement, just took a look at your photos and the stunning scenery that you have around you, what a fantastic area to be able to ride in. Can't wait for the next installment of photo's. Ride safe and enjoy your new Tiger

Well hello there across the pond. I will need to come that way some day as well. Yes, the scenery around these parts is quite amazing depending on where you land. I am very much looking forward to completing the WABDR possibly this year. I have seen many pics and read reviews. I even know some people who completed it last year. I tried to do it (before I had the bike) in my Jeep but a friend who was on his F800GS crashed and broke his lower leg so I took one for the team and abandoned the trip on day 2 to get him home. Anyways, looking forward to this in the upcoming season. I have already swapped out my tires for some Full Bore tires (never heard of them before). The look quite nice on the Tiger I must say. I'm glad the pics can be seen. Thanks Dave...I will try to post them here in a moment.

I will be sure to take pics-o-plenty if I make it out to do the WABDR this season for sure. We just need a bit of decent weather here to get started on many fun rides to come this year.

:y47: :y47: Oh no shouldn't have looked at the website. That is an amazing place to ride. I'm speechless, a mate of mine has a DRZ 400 and he'd love to do that route, I wouldn't mind it on my DR 350 as well. Big Happy if you do make it to this event, and I hope that you do, it will be brilliant to see the fantastic pictures that you'll surely take ( No pressure my friend ) Have you considered doing an article for this magazine http://www.adventurebikerider.com/ I feel sure that they'd welcome a report of this event ( with pictures of course ) Carl thank you for the link, I'm going back there now to feel sorry for myself a bit more
