Hello,

I am a new 2019 Triumph Street Twin owner. This is my first bike and I love it - I purchased it two months ago and have already put about 3,000 miles on it. I’ve got a few questions about making my ride more comfortable. So I’m looking for anyone who can offer insight from their experience.

Looking forward to talking with some of you. Thank you in advance. :)

:five: Welcome, from Northern California. What, specifically, are you interested in...more comfortable seat, better handlebar position, etc.?
Thanks Greyfell! I’d like to make my handlebars more comfortable. I think I’d like to replace them (or use risers) to bring my hands up and towards me.

I’m not sure if I’m on the right forum to discuss that? Not to be a PITA but I think the new members introduction thread (is that what this is?) said not to ask bike questions here. I’m not sure where to go for that.

I typed that topic into the search bar on this site but didn’t appear to find any results. I’m actually not sure how to go about looking for it. Part of the reason I’m here is all the businesses in Pennsylvania are shut down, which prevents asking a dealer.

CarlS didn't review both risers on this site, but privately for himself. The thread is: Helibar Risers

I went to both makers' sites, and learned Helibar riser are for the Triumph 800, while Rox does make one for the Street Twin. It is unknown about problems with cables.

I guess one question I have is, do I solve it by getting new handlebars (with enough rise and sweep/pullback), or by getting the right size risers (like rox risers which can rotate towards me)?

I know it comes down to experience and preference, but if anyone has either of those and is willing to share, I’d love to hear it.

Welcome to TT from Eastern Canada.
That's a great "first" bike you have.
We should move this into the Street Twin sub forum now. May even get some input from other ST owners if they've added risers to theirs.

Risers are the less expensive way to go and involve less work than replacing handlebars. Sometimes adding risers means you have to reroute cables or install longer cables. This depends on the bike and the amount of rise. Usually the manufacturer will tell you if a specific riser may require cable rerouting. I did not have to reroute cables with the Helibar riser on my Tiger 800 XC. I replaced the handlebar on my 03 Bonneville T100 rather than use a riser. I did not have to reroute cables. There are lots of handlebar options out there.

I've also added the ROX risers to my Tiger, and found it made great difference in the slight change in riding position. The Bonnies and Tigers have a very similar riding position, albeit a lot taller, so what works for them may help your situation as well.
