Mabel, my wife, bought her herself an new truck yesterday afternoon. She traded her 2004 Toyota Tundra extended cab 4X4 for a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 Longhorn crew cab 4X4. It is a lovely truck with all the bells and whistles.

Nice truck.

Be very careful with that 5.7, every now and then Kim comes in and tells me she loves her HEMI and its NOT me she's talking about. She is usually pretty easy on the gas but every now and then she has been known to stomp that go button.

I must confess, cars don't normally rattle my cage. This however is the exception to that comment. Very Very nice indeed.
I like how you've caught yourself in the front grill. :y24:

Hope you have many happy and safe miles together

Sharron just checked it out and asked why Mabel didn't get a bigger one. :y2:
Cool purchase and they say you can't take it with you, so at our time of life lets all cut loose, you two are showing us the way.

BTW, what's it running on, petrol, diesel or gas?

First.....hemis are gasoline engines.

Second....isn't petrol and gas the same thing? Or do you mean natural gas?

We Australians call your "gasoline" petrol and gas is always natural gas. If I went into a service station and asked for gasoline they would look at me strangely while they figured out what I actually wanted.

"hemis are gasoline engines".
For some reason can't they do a (natural) gas conversion? My daughter drives a GM V6 that was built for petrol but now runs petrol or gas. Saved heaps of money, our government pays for the duel fuel conversions.

Yes there are LPG/Propane/Butane conversion kits available. Some of the farm trucks run the conversion to have dual fuel trucks. Cost of fuel, conversion kit and availability of LPG/Propane/Butane are the major factors. LPG/Propane/Butane vehicles get lower fuel mileage but they have cleaner combustion cycles so periodic/regular maintenance schedules can be extended over petrol fuel powered vehicles. There is also the "Fear Factor" most city folks have when it comes to LPG/Propane/Butane systems plus finding a filling station is harder in the city. Many subdivisions/communities/cities have ordinances agains having a large LPG/Propane/Butane tank you could use to fill up from. I would love to have the conversion in my wife's truck but getting her to agree to it wouldn't be worth the effort.

Interesting, almost all of our service stations have LPG pumps, availability isn't an issue.
I don't understand "Fear Factor", are you suggesting people think gas tanks will explode?
Gas is safe, clean and inexpensive compared with petrol, it's only the cost to convert that can put people off. I forget the exact amounts involved but I paid about $2,000 to convert my daughters car and then got a government payment of about $1,500. The approx $500 out of pocket was recouped years ago with cheaper running.
