Just bought this 76 T140V to tinker with over winter. She is all there, and runs, but very roughly.
She has done some travelling in her lifetime. She went to Australia in 76, was owned by a US Sub-mariner who took her to the States in 84, and now she has come home for some TLC!.

And Winters are getting Shorter over in the Big Smoke.

So do you plan to Ride Her back to Australia.

Will you be able to Register Her as a Historic Registration.
Because you could here on the 30 Year Rule.

Too far to ride her back! I have just registered her as Historic. Over here it is has to be over 40yrs old to be Historic. You don't have to pay any road tax, or have an annual MOT test either.

Australian Gov would never agree to not having to pay.
Allows 60 log book days a year , need to be member of a Club.

I thought Brit Gov , had some special Original Logbook Laws and you had to Register even a unregistered vehicle before Christmas Day every year for a Gov Fee. Or it was privalage lost forever.

its just on a rolling 40th anniversary basis, and you can display a black rear numberplate instead of a yellow one.

Shouldn't be too bad getting it to run good. Best of luck with it.
I'm also rebuilding a 76 T140v, but a USA model. Been quite a journey so far.

I'm working on a 77 T140 just mived to Virginia in July and finally getting back to it. Just finding the misc. parts will be a chore. Think some of the parts ended up with my 56 karmann Ghia parts boxes

What part of Virginia? I'm in the Shenandoah Valley and am currently rebuilding a 76 T140 which has been on back burner during holidays

I'm in Norfolk. Most of the people I've met are Harley riders. My current running bike is 09 Vstar 650. Was given the 77 Bonneville. My best friend died from cancer as did his wife. before she passed she gave me the bike. he'd started a total reno in '96 but the cancer kept him from getting it done. Got lots of parts, frame, engine a complete bike just a jigsaw puzzle.

Would be a great tribute to your friend when you get it done.
