Hi all,

I guess I am a born again biker having rode in my 20’s. Only had 2 bikes. Suzuki bandit 6 faired and an sv650 faired. Had kids. Decided to stop riding. Now 44 (nearly) and kids olderI decided I wanted to get back into biking. So went out a few weeks back and got a Triumph Tiger explorer 1200 (3000 miles on the clock). Had it delivered as my dealer is in town and didnt fancy riding it through the town straight away. Its a big bike and quite intimidating at first. So I spent some time on a skid pan over the road from where I live initially. Got used to some low speed handling and then went for a ride to the coast with a friend. Been watching lots of youtube content. And been practicing low/medium speed handling as I can do this observing-social isolation. The skid pan is literally at my doorstep and I dontneed to see anyone. So here I am with a new to me big adventure bike. Looking to build my skills. Do some advanced training where I can (been an advanced police car driver for 14 yrs) and definitely interested in improving low speed skills when I can. Oh and bought an optimate 4. As it stands at the moment theres more chance of a flat battery as we cant really go anywhere. Oh and I am in the market for some luggage if anyone is selling!

:five: Welcome, from Northern California. Nice looking Tiger. How do you like the sound of that triple? How does the bike fit you, are you "securely" touching the ground when stopped? Obviously, your daughter is going to give you competition for riding time. WINK

Welcome to TT and another TEX(Tiger EXplorer) rider.
Great bikes(I think). Find the low speed handling great compared to my behemoth Thunderbird I had before it. They're great highway bikes too.
Enjoy the forum. Great bunch on here.

You can check ADV Rider(Adventure Rider) and Tiger Explorer Forum( Tiger Explorer - Index) for anyone selling the Triumph hard panniers or top case you may want in your area.
Also have you confirmed with your dealer that the head replacement was done? I believe the earlier Explorers like yours were afflicted with a bad batch of heads and were replaced under warranty. You can check our recall section to see if there's anything else your low mileage bike may need to have addressed.

The dealer checked for any outstanding recalls when they took it in part ex. The dealer was also the original seller of the bike and have looked after it since. Even though its super low mileage.
