A friend of mine , actually the Suzuki dealer for a short time , had a 380 twin of that model . It was custom painted as well , for the same reason . Now that think of it , it was painted by Bob MacKay known as Black Bob so as not to confuse him with Red Bob who I went to Sunday and Hi school with , just lost him a couple of months ago . Red Bob was a Harley guy but had a Hyabusa for the drags . Ran in the 9’s when he was in his seventies too . We didn’t travel a lot together , which I figured would be good for my longevity . Red Bob stuck to the custom painting and became arguably the became the finest chopper builder in the world apparently having more of his bikes making the Chopper Magazine front cover than the other guys .
Choking up a bit here , Red Bob and I were close . Black Bob passed on about 5 years back . He had owned 2 successful HD dealerships beside his custom bike business .
