New Car Suggestions

Here's the classic dilemma. Husband wants a sporty new car with standard transmission and floor shift. Wife (nest building) wants a mid-size or larger, safe, family car with an automatic transmission. They already have a 2008 Hyundai Sonata, no children at present but hoping to have first next year. Both are early 30's college professors.

They want something under $25K.

He likes a MiniCooper, she wants a small SUV.

Is there anything out there that might please both?
