New (but Feeling Old) Bonnie Owner

Well after nearly forty years of owning, stripping, restoring & riding Jap bikes in England and overseas I have bought a 1979 Triumph Bonneville T140.
I rode a friends Bonnie in 1982, I loved it but never ever got round to owning one.
So now its time to dig out my dad's imperial Britool spanners and socket sets (I thought Triumph's owners only used an oily rag, Mole grips and a hammer as a toolkit to be honest ), so any advice or assistance from the more experienced owners on here for a virgin Brit Bike owner will be warmly welcomed.

Hi there and welcome to TT im afraid i cant help you on the meridian Triumph's im more for the early Hinckley triumph's , but there are plenty of owners on here with a wealth of info on your model and will be along i have no doubt
