Finally got the Bonneville out to go for a ride and when I went to kick it over I found two problems.

1. The clutch plates are frozen. Apparently 6 months of sitting was too much loneliness for them and they bonded. Not the end of the world. Take the clutch apart and separate them.

2. The kick starter swings free without engaging. This is the one that puzzles me. I thought that I could put the transmission in neutral and kick it over but ... Nothing.

Any Meriden Triumph owners/experts out there that want to hazard a guess as to the source of my problems? Free beer & BBQ to the person who comes up with the best answer. Of course, you have to come to Utah to get it but once you get here you may never go back.

TIA, J.

Clutch adjustment and unsticking the plates.

8 or 10 things it could be; you have to open it up, make sure everything is tightened / torqued properly, then loosen everything up in the cable adjustment and re-set it all from BOTTOM to TOP.
